During late 1998 (following its introduction some twelve months earlier) the Scheppach Basato 5-2 professional bandsawing machine achieved first prize for reader’s choice of best new product in the prestigious PROFITIPS Building & Renovation magazine.

Next came the Basato 3 offering cutting capacity of 306 mm x 160 mm and bringing all Scheppach Basato bandsaw features within the reach of most woodworkers. Only hobby woodworkers were possibly excluded from enjoying the quality and benefits of “Basato bandsawing“. But it was only a matter of time before Scheppach introduced a Basato bandsaw for even the smallest workshop.

Scheppach now introduce the new Basato 1 hobby bandsaw. Other than variable speed control, this machine offers all the design features of larger Basato models. Like other Basato “family members“ the Basato 1 boasts a solid cast iron table which is tiltable to 45° and has precise one hand setting control. Unusual for this size of machine are the top and bottom triple roller precision guides included as standard equipment. A rigid fence system with magnifying glass for precise setting; a cutting capacity of 190 mm x 100 mm; balanced polished wheels with rubber facing; all this and more finally enables everyone to have the joy of working with a Basato bandsaw.

Precision rip fence with magnifier. Conveniently inserted from above for right and left hand use.
