The RS2000 System and its predecessor have been sold throughout the world for more than ten years. Following heavy demand the arm brace which helps to control the tool in use has been re-introduced.Slicer RS205The hollow ground nose of the tungsten carbide tip allows deep plunge cuts, at any angle, to remove cones from bowls or vessels. The slicer can also be used as a heavy-duty parting tool. Slicer RS205The hollow ground nose of the tungsten carbide tip allows deep plunge cuts, at any angle, to remove cones from bowls or vessels. The slicer can also be used as a heavy-duty parting tool. The full RS2000 System is supplied in a compact, robust mahogany stained and lacquered case fitted with brass clasps and hinges, carrying handle and Instruction Manual. The lid is designed, as illustrated, to hold the Robert Sorby 7 Calipers (977 available separately) Hooker RS210. This provides a safe method of hollowing vessels with restricted openings. The Hooker can be used either in-board or out-board. The HSS Cutter can be turned to any position for both roughing and finishing cuts. The Side Handle counteracts rotational forces. Alternatively the Slicer and Hooker can be fitted into the Arm brace (RS206) for additional support. The RS2000 System was developed from an original idea by American woodturner, Dennis Stewart. It is a flexible system which enables deep vessel hollowing with the minimum of timber wastage. Indeed several bowls may be produced from one blank - depicted in the first column- of this page - thereby saving money on expensive timbers. The RS2000 System lends itself not just to hollow forms but with the use of the slicer will produce picture frames and other large rings.
