An impressive planer thicknesser suitable for the home workshop featuring hardened tables and a cast iron thicknessing bed. A great addition to any workshop allowing great savings to be made on timber costs by enabling accurate finishing. The main job of the planer is to produce totally flat and square datum points for the thicknesser to work from. Once this is achieved the thicknesser accurately and rapidly dimensions all your timber to the required size making accurate joinery a breeze. The heart of any planer are the tables and beds. The PT260 features a cast iron thicknessing bed for strength and rigidity and boasts a 150mm thicknessing capacity. The specially hardened surfacing tables are a generous 1 metre in length and will plane boards up to 260mm wide. The surface is treated to reduce friction. The fence can be tilted to 45 degrees for bevelling and chamfering and the 2 knife block is fitted with re-sharpenable blades as standard. Following the tradition of our Startrite industrial planers both infeed and outfeed rollers are metal for reliability and longevity. The powerful induction motor enables the machine to remove up to 3mm in a single pass. This machine benefits from the Record Power 5 year guarantee. Ref: PT107
The new PT107 bridges the gap between the highly successful PT260 and the heavy-duty PT300, providing an extremely solid machine and exceptional value. This Planer Thicknesser is perfectly suited to the discerning woodworker who expects professional, reliable performance from a solid and durable machine but doesn?t require the larger capacities of the PT300 or Startrite SD300. A three knife cutter block ensures a consistently fine, even finish to all stock.Heavy duty cast iron tables give this machine a degree of accuracy not found elsewhere on machines of this capacity or price bracket - the infeed table is easily and accurately adjusted using the robust lever and clear depth scale. In addition, the PT107 also boasts an outfeed table adjustment facility, meaning truly exact calibration can be achieved to ensure superior accuracy when planing. For easy, rapid conversion to thicknessing mode, the hood is a large, steel one-piece swinging design. The thicknessing table is supported by a substantial central column, giving plenty of support to even the heaviest workpieces. To aid the thicknessing of particularly difficult stock, a clutch is provided on the thicknessing feed to allow removal of stock if jamming occurs. This also means that the thicknesser can be disengaged when not in use to save wear and tear on internal parts.SpecificationMAX THICKNESSING Height: 190mm. MAX Thicknessing WIDTH: 265mm. Ref: PT300
FOR ACCURATE JOINERY A GOOD PLANER THICKNESSER IS AN INVALUABLE TOOL. IT CAN ALSO BE A COST EFFECTIVE ONE ENABLING GOOD USE OF UNPREPARED AND SALVAGED TIMBER. THE NEW PT300 HAS BEEN DESIGNED AS A HEAVY, WELL SPECIFIED MACHINE ABLE TO FIT IN EVEN A MODEST WORKSHOP BUT CAPABLE OF SERIOUS WORK AND PERFORMANCE.The PT300 has heavily ribbed cast iron surfacing tables and a generous cast iron thicknessing table. The machine is housed in a single, heavy steel frame for rigidity and stability and boasts a 3hp induction motor to provide plenty of power for the 12 x 8 capacities and the maximum 5mm cut.The 70mm block has three knives to allow faster feed speeds and provide a good quality finish. Anti kickback fingers protect the user as the knurled steel infeed roller drives timber easily into the block. The outfeed roller has a heavy rubber sleeve to protect the newly planed surface. The fence, which is so essential when surface planing, must be one of the most substantial on the market at this price level. The heavy fence extrusion is mounted on a large cast iron mount which tilts to 45º and is quickly and easily resets to 90º with the aid of an adjustable stop. This is then mounted on a thick steel bar which in turn is mounted in another substantial casting fixed to the outfeed table. When changing to thicknessing mode it is only necessary to tilt the outfeed table which simply flips up without encroaching into valuable workshop space and the fence remains mounted on the table with no need to remove it, saving time and avoiding the need to continually reset every time you return to surfacing. This powerful machine can take up to 5mm cuts and these adjustments can be quickly and easily made in either mode. When surfacing there is a simple lever to raise and lower the infeed table and when thicknessing there is a large handwheel to raise and lower the thicknessing table and a large clear scale for guidance. We have tried to bring industrial features and design to this machine but keep the physical size, space saving features and price within justifiable reach of a good home workshop. If you are in the market for a new planer thicknesser please check this one out at your local stockist, an exhibition or even our demonstration centre as we are confident that when you see it for yourself you will be able to quickly appreciate the build quality and value for money on offer and as ever our confidence in this machine is backed up by our 5 year guarantee.Specifications:Max depth of cut: 3mmMax thicknessing depth: 200mmMax planing depth: 310mmCutterblock speed: 5300rpmBlade speed: 4000rpmMotor power: 3hpSize: W900 x D1250 x H1020mmWeight: 175kg
