Jet JOVS-10 Oscillating Spindle Sander

This is a very versatile machine with many uses in the trade workshop. The sander by virtue of its name oscillates up and down whilst rotating at 1425rpm, ensuring that abrasive is not continually exposed to the same point reducing burning and creating a better quality of finish. The stroke is some 38mm long and is driven by a series of gears working in an oil filled gearbox. The large cast iron table gives adequate support to nearly all types of work and can be tilted to a full 45° if required. The machine is supplied with 10 metric bobbins all with sanding sleeves attached and the bobbins fit with a taper into the main drive shaft of the machine. The sleeves are spirally wound to ensure that they have no bump where the join is, more expensive than simple belts but they do leave an excellent finish on nearly all materials. The machine is floor standing and has no castors or wheels, if the machine needs to be moved on a regular basis we recommend the purchase of our mobile base unit 708118.

The machine is supplied complete with 3 table inserts, service tools, 100mm dust extraction outlet and the following sanding bobbins - 6 x 125mm, 9 x 150mm, 12 x 150mm, 19 x 230mm, 25 x 230mm, 38 x 230mm, 50 x 230mm, 75 x 230mm and 100 x 230mm.

A very versatile sander with oscillating bobbin and fully tilting table ideal for all manner of finishing tasks in the workshop. The oscillating motion of the bobbin prevents burning of the work as well as spreading the wear along the length of the abrasive. The cast iron table can be tilted up to 45° to allow for sanding of angled surfaces. There is a 100mm dust outlet provided at the rear of the machine and the use of a fine dust extractor, such as the WV100, is strongly recommended. The JBOS-5 sander is best suited to workshop use and has fitted as standard an exceptionally efficient extraction hood for dust free sanding when used with a suitable extractor. Supplied with 50mm, 38mm, 16mm, 12mm and 6mm bobbins and loadings. Also available as an additional accessory is a 76mm diameter bobbin, which will require an accompanying table insert.
