Jet JWS-34 LX Spindle Moulder

The JWS-34 LX is really a combination of two machines, spindle moulder and router-moulder. It accepts 30mm bore tooling and in addition there are two collets, 8mm and 1/2", supplied with the machine so that, when used on its highest speed, it can utilise router cutters with a diameter of 35mm or greater (smaller cutters simply would not have a high enough peripheral speed). The machine has one fully adjustable fence, micro adjustment on the outfeed fence and a 100mm dust extraction outlet at the rear. Height adjustment of the spindle is made with a generous-sized handle on the front of the machine and tooling changes can be speeded up with the aid of the spindle lock. For curved work the moulder is supplied with a ring fence with its own integral 100mm dust outlet. On the bed of the table is a T slotted groove in which the mitre guide slides and there is an additional tenoning guide (stock number 100415) available for end grain work. For long lengths of material and for added safety we thoroughly recommend the addition of the power feed unit (510365) detailed later in this section. This is easily attached using the very clever quick fit base (800430) that clamps on to the corner of the table casting. The mounting holes for the power feed are tapped into the base, thereby removing the need to drill holes in the table. A 20A supply is recommended.
The optional sanding set (100391) is supplied with 1 off each abrasive to suit. For long lengths of material and for added safety we thoroughly recommend the addition of the power feed unit (340195).

medium weight power feed unit with three white rubber rollers, all spring-loaded to provide a constant feed rate on either a planer, saw bench or spindle moulder. There is a choice of four feed speeds, easily selectable by removing the side plate and re-positioning the drive gears. The horizontal and vertical position of the drive head can be precisely adjusted with the aid of the two adjusting screws and then securely locked in place with the two handles. An additional feature is the ability to rotate the head through 90° so that pressure can be applied to the work in either the vertical or horizontal planes. The unit is secured to the table of the machine, either by bolting through or by screwing into holes tapped into the cast iron bed. If drilling the holes into the table of your machine is too disheartening then the purchase of the universal quick fix support plate (800430) is an excellent solution. The plate bolts onto the corner of a table and is clamped in place with the bolts provided. The top of the plate is drilled and tapped to accept all of the power feed units we offer, allowing the unit to be bolted on to whichever machine it is required on.

This sturdy machine base with its two fixed and two castoring wheels is a convenient and low cost way to get your machines moving around the workshop. Once the machine is positioned the castoring front wheels can be raised with the foot pedals to allow the base to rest on two height-adjustable rubber feet. Maximum total load is 230kg. and the size limits are 280mm square up to 895mm square or 280 x 430mm up to 1295 x 483mm rectangular.

Spindle moulder cutter block, specifically designed for rebating. Fits any moulder with a 30mm diameter spindle. The cutterblock has 2, double edged, planing knives and 4 spur cutters. The spur cutters give a clean crisp edge to the internal corner when rebating. The spurs can removed if required.

We also include a guide ring, which consists of a bearing with 30mm bore and a collar to run the work piece along. It is used for cutting rebates into curved timber, but should only be used with an appropriate ring fence fitted to the moulder.

The block is supplied in a foam lined aluminium storage case to keep it safe.

The cutting knives are double edged and replacements are supplied as a pair.
