AN ECONOMICAL SCHOOLS BANDSAW BUT RETAINING THE STARTRITE QUALITY

A compact and economic machine yet with all the features and build quality customers have come to expect from a Startrite machine. Taking up to a 25mm blade and having a cutting height of 280mm, it can easily handle most operations. It is equipped with cast iron wheels and electro-mechanical braking, unlike hobby machines that use aluminium wheels which avoid the need for braking. With its two speeds, the cutting of light alloys can be undertaken making it a truly versatile machine. Electrically interlocked doors and an emergency kick stop are fitted as standard and make this an ideal machine for schools and will fit into most budgets. THE FLAGSHIP MODEL OF THE STARTRITE EDUCATIONAL RANGE

The Startrite 352 is the original and best known of all the educational machines, and has been at the heart of school and college workshops for many years.
It has now been upgraded to the 352SB and this latest incarnation rests firmly at the forefront of the Startrite educational bandsaw range. It is built to comply with regulation BS4163. Now featuring a whole host of upgrades, specifically to increase the performance of the machine but ensuring the safety of the user. The motor is equipped with a mechanical brake, whilst user access can be restricted through the keyswitch isolator. The doors are interlocked and can be locked to prevent unauthorised access. Once in use there is an emergency kickstop which stops the machine well inside ten seconds through application of a mechanical motor brake.
The 352SB also features the Startrite ceramic guide system ensuring the user acheives optimum results from an extremely stable blade. The guides are operated on a rack and pinion rise and fall. Rack and pinion is also used on the table tilting mechanism.

Utilising the same basic design as the heavy duty bandsaw range this machine is sure to impress when it comes to accuracy and performance. The user of the 352SB will undertake every project with confidence.

Available in single phase or three phase, the three phase model having a distinct advantage of being two speed. This allows the efficient cutting of materials such as acrylic or foam.
The 352SB can also be fitted with an optional wheel kit if the machine needs to be moveable.

The new 401E is built with the same strong frame as the 401S but with electronic braking and roller guides it provides the opportunity to own a precision built, high quality, European machine for the same price of a far eastern imports. The 440R is unique in offering excellent re-sawing performance in a compact economical machine. Capable of using a 50mm blade, supported by the revolutionary ceramic blade guides. This machine has a strengthened frame, large cast table and heavy cast iron rip fence to make accurate re-sawing a cinch. Alternatively a smaller blade can be fitted, down to 6mm. The 440R can then be used for more general bandsawing such as contours and curves etc, making this an extremely versatile machine. The 440R is the perfect re-sawing answer for the small joinery shop or for a manufacturer wanting to convert timber but not on a full time production basis. With a foot print of only 590x850mm it requires very little space when compared to the capabilities on offer. Ideal for the user wanting a machine that will easily deep rip material, but without the space, workload or budget for a full blown re-saw.

The 502E is a larger version of the 352 having a larger cutting height and larger throat capacity than its smaller brother. It has cast iron wheels with electro-mechanical braking giving easy smooth cutting with safety. It is a two-speed machine which can handle light alloys and other materials requiring a lower blade speed, it can also take up to a 35mm blade. Electrically interlocked doors and kick stop are fitted as standard and represents exceptional value for money. A wheel kit and high quality cast iron mitre gauge are available as optional extras.
