Call us on :- 01622-884651 and we'll try to beat it.A quick phone call could save you £'sssssNewly upgraded to feature a cam lock toolrest and tailstock, the CL3 is one of Records best selling professional lathes. It features five speeds, heavier headstocks and tailstocks than the DML lathes and solid steel polished chrome bars for weight and rigidity, but the real heart of this machine is its phosphor bronze bearing. This adjustable tapered bearing gives far more support than ball races enabling bowls up to 30" in diameter to be turned with ease. The 3/4hp motor powers through even the most arduous tasks enabling deeper cuts to be made and speeding up some of the more laborious tasks such as roughing and scraping. A proven machine for many years, this lathe can be found in more workhops than almost any other. The machine comes fitted with a four prong drive centre and cup centre. Please note for illustration purposes the CL3 is shown fitted with optional extra: RPLB24-48 legstand, this is not included in the standard price.SPECIFICATIONMax between centres: 36" (914mm) Max bowl Dia. over bed: 12 (305mm) Max spindle Dia: 9 (229mm) Max bowl Dia. with optional: CL3B end turning bracket: 30 (762mm) Spindle Speeds: 425, 625, 925, 1360, 2000 Drive: Poly V Belt Spindle Nose: 3/4" dia. x 16tpi Main Bearing: Phosphor Bronze (adjustable) Motor: 3/4hp Weight: 86kg Dimensions HxWxD: 368x381x1625mm
MOST SERIOUS AND PROFESSIONAL WOODTURNERS HAVE REALISED THE BENEFITS OF INFINITELY VARIABLE SPEED CONTROL. THIS ALLOWS THE TURNER TO RUN THE LATHE AT EXACTLY THE RIGHT SPEED FOR THE JOB WITH A SIMPLE TURN OF A DIAL. SPEEDS CAN BE VARIED FROM 13rpm TO 4600rpm*In recent years the CL4 has rapidly become our best selling professional lathe. With all the build quality and features that have made the CL3 such a popular choice amongst serious turners for decades and now with the added bonus of cam lock banjos, the CL4 builds on this with a powerful 1hp motor and a top quality electronic variable speed system with plenty of torque at low speeds.Newly upgraded, the electronics and invertor are now housed in a dust proof enclosure certified to IP55 standard. This offers even greater levels of protection for the advanced control circuits. This speed control unit should not be confused with cheap and inferior expanding pulley systems, which have limited speed ranges, often have vibration problems and due to the inherent weakness in their design, wear belts at a rapid rate. The CL4 uses a 3 phase motor and invertor to provide the power form a normal 240v single phase supply. This is a professional solution and used throughout the machine tool industry. The 3 phase motor provides plenty of power and torque, especially at low speeds and the invertor converts the single phase supply into three phase and enables stepless, infinite speed variation. Even those who are initially sceptical about the benefits of variable speed do not want give it up once they have tried it. The CL4 is based on the CL3 and shares the same structural integrity and components, such as the phosphor bronze bearing, solid bed bars and heavy duty castings.* Most turning can be achieved safely between 400 and 2000rpm. The higher speeds, over 2000rpm in particular, are only to be used by experienced turners who have had adequate training and observe all recommended safety and operating instructions.SPECIFICATIONMaximum Between Centres 36" (914mm) Maximum Bowl Diameter Over Bed 12 (305mm) Maximum Spindle Diameter 9 (229mm) Maximum Bowl Diameter with Bowl Bracket 30" (762mm) Spindle Speeds 13-4600rpm Spindle Nose 3/4" dia. x 16tpi Motor 1hp Weight 90kg Overall Height 600mm Overall Width 1625mm Overall Depth 381mm
The workbench for your lathe is as important as the lathe itself. Any bench that vibrates or does not lay true can ruin the work of even the most skilled woodturner.Whatever the size of lathe, 24", 36" or even up to 48" between centres, this bench is easily adjustable to suit the lathe that you own and can be adjusted in length. There is the facility for attaching large bowl turning rests. Splayed legs and steel construction gives rigidity enabling large projects to be undertaken with minimal vibration. Can be easily bolted to the floor and storage shelves can easily be added to increase weight further.Plenty of room below bed bars to operate lathe clamping handles without obstruction. Epoxy powder coatied for long life and to withstand wear and tear. Smaller lathes mounted on wooden worktops can also be easily fitted onto the bench.
This heavy duty cast iron bowl turning arm and rest can easily be fitted to the lathe for convenient access to the swivelhead functions easing the turning of bowls and allowing the bigger capacities to be achieved. Can be used on a bench or stand. For use with all CL lathes. Includes CWA180 tubular bowl rest. Please note banjo is not included the existing banjo from the bed bars should used.
