Robert Sorby PE120A ProEdge Aluminium Oxide Belt 120 grit is the common abrasive is designed primarily to sharpen carbon steel bench chisels, carving tools and plane irons but will also hone harder high speed steel tools. The material longevity is at the lower end of the abrasives scale used on the ProEdge belts. However, it makes an excellent economical choice.
Work your way through grit sizes (heavier grits for the removal of more material) and for the best results, you can achieve this and a fine finish with a PE240A ,240 grit aluminium oxide belt
